Internet Explorer 6 Issue

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have been working on our school's website and finished it, I then tried it on Safari&Firefox&Opera=working fine.However, Internet Explorer 6 and some versions of 7 move the text down the page. The Sourcecode is really long, so it may be better to look at the website with IE6 first:brynelian.imaginetoys.net/newpage.I've got no idea what the problem is, IE6 and some versions of IE7 just move the text to the bottom.

I'll add the sourcecode too, if anyone could help me that would be cool:

hi David

You seem to have met the good old ie padding\margin issues!

On the content div you have you have left and right padding - this is making the div to big in ie to sit next to the other one! you'll need to change it either just for ie or for both!

Also could you please please remove the marquee!!!

what is so bad about the marquee?I will remove it anyway due to a style change but I would be very thankful if anyone could show me how to solve the issue.

In your css file you have something like this:

#contentContainer #content {

background:#FFFFFF none repeat scroll 0 0;

line-height:2em;

padding-left:10px;

padding-right:30px;

width:420px;

}

you need to change the 2 lines

padding-left:10px;

padding-right:30px;

making them smaller until ie pops back into place and the page looks right!

As for marquees it just reminds me of the 90's when every page you went to had at least one!

hope that makes sense

Cheers
