hi, i'm just getting to grips with javascript and there is some syntax that keeps popping up that i don't understand...

 

keyword: function ()

 

is this just an alternative way of declaring a function or what is it?

It's a function with no name.

can you explain this a bit more for me? what is the purpurse of a function with no name, how are they used?
