September 4, 200818 yr Hey all, I want to hide a short bit of text from Firefox users only... in short is there a way to do this with CSS? I stumbled across this article but it did nothing for me! Any ideas...?
September 4, 200818 yr The only browser that has conditional statements is IE AFAIK. Therefore you have two real options. You can either use an IE conditional statement so that ONLY Internet Explorer users can view the content or you can use a client/server-side language to detect the user agent and go from there. Your best option would be to get the user agent in a server-side language like ASP/PHP. Edit: Here would be an example in PHP (not tested). if(preg_match('/^Mozilla\/.*?Gecko/i',$_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'])) { echo "You're using Firefox"; // Do somethiong else }
