So as the title says, can anyone suggest a decent lens for the Canon 400D please?

 

I have the basic one that came with it, but i have some money to spend now so i've decided to invest in a new

lens. :-)

 

I would be mainly taking pics of my 3 kids ( natural & portrait style ) / nature / scenery etc. So the general stuff really.

I've been looking online but theres so much choice i dont know which is best for what i want! lol

I bought a Sigma 70 - 300mm zoom for mine.

Not a mega pro lens, but way better than the canon one it came with. You will obviously need to interchange lenses for wide angle shots.

Has macro ability as well.

Depends how much you want to spend really, I think I have the same sigma as Scraeling I think and does the job...

I was thinking of spending around £300 on a lens, there seem to be loads in that price range but just too much choice! lol
