Wow, 400 a day! Guess I have to be thankful that my site gets only 3, 4, 5 a day. Thanks for your insight, fisicx, and you have shown me that I will have to learn to expect this sort of thing. It's a wild world! Thanks again for all your comments and I am grateful for your wisdom and experience. This is certainly a learning experience for me. :-)

To answer my own question here, I have been informed (private e-mail) that the W3C MobileOK checker is out-of-date by some years and should not be relied upon. For anyone who wondered, I am going to ignore the reported problem and concentrate instead on my longer-term goal of upgrading my site to HTML5. Thanks to all and carry on!

Thanks, yes. I think I might shut everything down for the day on Feb 29 just in case the Web Wizard has a special arrangement with Sadie Hawkins. <g> Can't be too safe!

Thanks for all the advice and insight. And of course I should have spotted the type myself, weeks ago!! Now I can concentrate on making things nice for the visitors. And make time to read the tutorials here. What a treasure this forum is! Thanks again.
