    The Next Youtube

    Precisely. I've started a new hosting company, and I am a pretty good sys admin, so if I can ever help, give me a shout :-)

    The Next Youtube

    I 100% agree that YouTube either needs to make some big changes to their policies, or somebody needs to make a new video-sharing website, however, YouTube is owned by one of the biggest companies in the world, and it is the go to platform. Good luck with everything!

    Review my new hosting company

    Different companies specialise in different things, and it's always good to experiment. Bare in mind that DigitalOcean is also designed for Developers. Less experienced users might struggle with it. It's also very expensive.
  4. Hello, I have been planning to do this for a while, but haven't really gotten round to it. I have started a new company called QuinHub Network, an das part of it, we offer hosting services. Our website is at https://www.quinhub.com (it is still in development). I was wondering whether anybody would like to try out our web hosting services for free over a trial period, and then write a review on it. Thank you!

    A Reviews Site WordPress Plugin

    Hi everyone, I'm currently working on a WordPress reviews site. I am wanting to have a page devoted to reviews, where I will have a table (of sorts) of different chords, and the user can upvote or downvote each entry. The table will sort itself based on the overall ranking. Are there any plugins that would allow me to do this? Thanks, Josh
  6. Hello everyone, I have very recently setup a new hosting company called WarlockHosting. The website still needs work, however, the client area is fully functional, and I am ready to start doing business. I have three things to ask of you: 1) Are there any good ways to get my company out there and to start getting clients? 2) Do any of you need hosting, domain names or an SSL certificate? If so, I can help you! 3) Would any of you be interested in joining my affiliate program? As I've said, my site isn't up yet, however, the client area is. Go and check it out at https://www.warlockhosting.com/clients Pricing is as follows: Shared cPanel Web Hosting: https://gyazo.com/120cec6379145d44c3a3b4b4c0b24ca3 Business cPanel Web Hosting: https://gyazo.com/e45e2bcaaf186ab8fab3b2198139c4c2 SSL Certificates: https://gyazo.com/c5ba418b2bf7f1723d37565eeb78a4c8 Domain Names: https://gyazo.com/b73effe9b6a3856db79a988f3e2c123a Let me know if anybody is interested :-)
  7. UPDATED CODE: HTML: <form id="main-contact-form" class="contact-form" name="contact-form" method="post" action="sendmail.php" role="form"> <div class="row"> <div class="col-sm-5"> <div class="form-group"> <input type="text" name="name" class="form-control" required="required" placeholder="Full Name"> </div> <div class="form-group"> <input type="text" name="email" class="form-control" required="required" placeholder="Email address"> </div> <div class="form-group"> <input type="text" name="subject" class="form-control" required="required" placeholder="Subject"> </div> <div class="form-group"> <button type="submit" class="btn btn-primary btn-lg">Send Message</button> </div> </div> <div class="col-sm-7"> <textarea name="message" id="message" required="required" class="form-control" rows="8" placeholder="Message"></textarea> </div> </div> </form> PHP: <?php header('Content-type: application/json'); $status = array( 'type'=>'success', 'message'=>'Your email has been succesfully sent.' ); $name = @trim(stripslashes($_POST['name'])); $email = @trim(stripslashes($_POST['email'])); $subject = @trim(stripslashes($_POST['subject'])); $message = @trim(stripslashes($_POST['message'])); $email_from = $email; $email_to = 'me@joshuaquinlan.co.uk'; $body = 'Name: ' . $name . "\n\n" . 'Email: ' . $email . "\n\n" . 'Subject: ' . $subject . "\n\n" . 'Message: ' . $message; $success = @mail($email_to, $subject, $body, 'From: <'.$email_from.'>'); echo json_encode($status); die;
  8. I will take a look at Jekyll. It's not that I don't want to use WordPress, but I am concerned about the load time of the site, considering that the load time of my site is currently pretty much instant, and I have to admit, I have no idea of how to create a WordPress theme. Oh, okay. Do you by any chance know how I could correct the above code in order to make it work correctly? Thank you for your excellent reply, once again Richard.
  9. One slight issue however - I don't really know how to do that. I've added the field names, however, I don't really know what you meant from the second line of point 2 - if you or anybody else could possibly explain further, that would be really great.
  10. Hello, I am working on my personal website at the moment, and I have done everything, except when a message comes through from a user via the contact form, and email is successfully sent to me, but the content contained within said email is blank. My code is below: PHP (sendmail.php) <?php header('Content-type: application/json'); $status = array( 'type'=>'success', 'message'=>'Your email has been succesfully sent.' ); $name = @trim(stripslashes($_POST['name'])); $email = @trim(stripslashes($_POST['email'])); $subject = @trim(stripslashes($_POST['subject'])); $message = @trim(stripslashes($_POST['message'])); $email_from = $email; $email_to = 'me@joshuaquinlan.co.uk'; $body = 'Name: ' . $name . "\n\n" . 'Email: ' . $email . "\n\n" . 'Subject: ' . $subject . "\n\n" . 'Message: ' . $message; $success = @mail($email_to, $subject, $body, 'From: <'.$email_from.'>'); echo json_encode($status); die; HTML (contact-us.html) <div class="status alert alert-success" style="display: none"></div> <form id="main-contact-form" class="contact-form" name="contact-form" method="post" action="sendemail.php" role="form"> <div class="row"> <div class="col-sm-5"> <div class="form-group"> <input type="text" class="form-control" required="required" placeholder="First Name"> </div> <div class="form-group"> <input type="text" class="form-control" required="required" placeholder="Last Name"> </div> <div class="form-group"> <input type="text" class="form-control" required="required" placeholder="Email address"> </div> <div class="form-group"> <button type="submit" class="btn btn-primary btn-lg">Send Message</button> </div> </div> <div class="col-sm-7"> <textarea name="message" id="message" required="required" class="form-control" rows="8" placeholder="Message"></textarea> </div> </div> </form> </div><!--/.col-sm-8--> Here's what the email came as: (and yes, when I submitted the form, I did include content) Any help would be much appreciated. Also, I don't suppose any of you would be willing to help me to setup a working blog system for my blog page, as I don't want to have to do everything through HTML for each blog article, considering that I will post pretty much every day. I don't know whether one already exists done in pure html and so on, or whether I should create a WordPress theme using Bootstrap, then using that. Either way, I have no idea how to start! Thanks!
  11. Thank you very much Paul - your advice is very much appreciated. I honestly didn't mean to ask for your services free of charge - I appologise.
  12. Thank you. Very useful - I have the time for that, so I'll get started right away. Thanks.
  13. Thank you for that - I understand. I apologize if I have come across rather rash. Are there any good places where I can learn how to develop web applications (that may eventually allow me to create projects like this) for free (preferably online)?
  14. NOCK: Thank you for your kind and helpful advice - much appreciated. I am looking at crowdfunding at the moment, and hope that some will be interested in helping with this. I have already got two front-end developers and a project manager, so some are interested, however, we could really do with more, especially back-end developers. I believe my idea could be successful, so I will stick with this idea for a while now, and if it doesn't work out, then it doesn't work out, however, this is all experience. Citypall: I can understand this, however, I do not see any reason for your hostility. I am looking at crowdfunding as we speak. I did state that I did not want to offend anyone, as I always remember to do when I'm requesting such a thing as this. Your sarcasm is not appreciated, and hostility, likewise. Again, I apologize if I insulted you - this was not intended. Thank you to both of you, and anybody else that replies to this thread.
