drk11 reacted to Weedy101 in Looking for any tips and reviewsI agree with 4li4s, a great effort. There are a few content issues to sort out though, typos mainly. I'd suggest getting a friend with excellent English skills to proof read the content for you as both grammar and spelling need to be sorted out.
I'd also dig in and find out where in the WP theme the currency format is being set so that you can place the £ before the value, it may be easier to find than you expect. Or maybe somebody here is already familiar with this issue and can direct you to the exact file and line that needs editing.
One thing I did notice is that you have your services page, and the services heading on the home page directed at more general info. I would be tempted to place smaller links to these articles near the top of the page like most online stores do rather than have them as main items of content on pages about other topics. Especially something that can be a real selling point like 'Pay with Paypal' which re-assures many online buyers.

drk11 reacted to Weedy101 in I need a full review...I have just had a look at this problem you are facing. To redesign and modernize that site is a lot of work. The content has issues, on one page it even breaks out of the side of the page, the left sidebar is a mess and disorganized, and as for 'CRAP' I think the designer you inherited this site from has never heard of these basic design principles. The spacing is terrible, white space is in the wrong place to be emphasizing any of the content, the page is blocky and straight out of the Early 90's, and looking at the way the content has been highlighted with bold and italic text there appears to be an attempt to fool SEO algorithms.
I would take the easy rout and start from scratch, get the client to send you a copy of the original brief, with added comments about what they was handed by the last developer. Then start from the beginning of the process and put your own design in to it. That way you'd be able to get rid of all that excess scripting, introduce some semantic HTML, and create a page that didn't require a meta tag within the body tags. Plus there'd be the added benefit of being able to get rid of the table and produce a responsive site so you don't actually need a mobile version like they needed a decade ago. Which would save you even more work!
