    Hi there

A few suggestions. All of them my personal opinion..

I'd ditch that blurred effect on the images, it doesn't really work. I think a crisp sharp border would look cleaner. Also, your images are slow to load because you haven't optimised them. If your image is only being shown at a size of say, 600x300, then you only need the image to be that size. I suspect the images you have are bigger than they need to be which causes the slow loading. You may not notice this due to your browser cache.

Your contact form is really grey and the contrast isn't great. How about removing the borders altogether, and making the boxes the pinkish colour? Then make the text inside the boxes #fff white. Sure, it'd look very "bold" but it'd also look very fresh and fit in better with the site. Nobody really likes grey!

    Here's a quick draft: http://jsfiddle.net/mqs8w/

You'd wanna shrink that down to fit your website but you get the idea - it's just a lot more creative and less bland - without sacrificing usability.

Other than that, it's really not a bad effort, although your portfolio is lacking in good material. Maybe just bash some demo sites together, get really creative, use them.

    Good luck

Come on, really?! Don't get me wrong things went a bit too far but if you want to be a successful web designer or developer then you'll more than likely find yourself on the receiving end of threads like these, and people like on this forum, and you're going to have to deal with it.

People get passionate, sometimes they take it too far, you just have to ignore it and let it float past you.

Using a forum like WDF is actually a very gentle way to break yourself into the industry and make contact with others doing the same, it's moderated so there's people to look after you.

In the real world, it's gonna be more brutal and there won't be moderators around to tell anybody off.

So get posting! We'll help, promise.

it's normally not like this, usually good banter and stuff.

one guy just got particularly annoyed at the stupid comments being spouted from one person, and it appears 99.99% of the WDF community feel the same way.

If it's any consolation, I won't be commenting any further on this thread, so at least that's one less miserable git for you to contend with!

hopefully see you around on a different thread..

    Welcome.

Don't use Dreamweaver to view how the site will look, use a real browser.
