    forums are no follow and therefore little good anyway. How are you submitting to directories? There are a lot of bad directories, and my suggestion would be to search for directories specific to your industry.
     
    Once you have built a small PR you maybe able to exchange links with a website within the same industry but are targeting a different audience.
     
    It is also important to note that Google has not done a PR update since April, so you might be doing better than you thought!
