  1. Portfolio Redesign...

    22 December 2011 - 05:22 PM

    Hi Folks,

Would love your opinions on the first mockup of my new portfolio. This version is the 240px width mobile version of the home page. This website will be responsive.

  2. Your Thoughts on Agency Portfolios...

    12 December 2011 - 03:39 PM

    Hi Folks,

    I hope everyone is OK?

I'm currently performing some market research as part of my content strategy development and I would really like to hear as many opinions as possible. This is possibly something that could help other users out on the forum also, I'm sure.

I'm in the process of redesigning and developing my online portfolio and I have a few questions for you guys if you would be so kind as to offer your advice.

    • When deciding on a new project build or a redesign of your current business website, how do you go about searching and sourcing design and development?
    • When selecting the right contractor for the job, do you have a preference for freelancers or full service agencies?
    • When visiting a prospective contractors website, what is the most important information you look for? What would you like to be immediately accessible to you?
    • When contacting a contractor, would you prefer to fill out a detailed project requirement form online or would a fast and simple contact form be best? Alternatively, would you like the option to have both available?

I have many more questions but I think these will suffice for the time being.

If you have any other advice or insights to offer, I would very much appreciate your input on the subject.

Thanks in advance guys, and I look forward to your responses.

    Regards

    Gareth

EDIT: I realise that this is a web designer forum, though I would still appreciate your thoughts and opinions on the questions, as I still consider them valuable and a lot of you run businesses. I do also understand that occasionally web design and development agencies outsource their portfolio design.

The questions above are generic ones that I have asked on other forums to gauge opinion, that's why they are there in their entirety.

It would be good to get feedback on what you think the most important aspects of a portfolio are and what content is most important. Thanks guys.
  3. Downloading a CSV File Using PHP...

    20 November 2011 - 11:17 PM

    Hi Folks,

    Just a quick one.

I need to build a small script that logs in to an external server/web page using a username and password and then retrieves a CSV file which I then need to download/push over to another server, for use in a another script that I need to create that then turns that CSV information in to a WordPRess post.

Regarding the first part, can anyone point me in the direction of a tutorial or possibly give me an idea of how I would achieve logging in to an external website via PHP? Is this possible. Cheers in advance.
  4. Property Home Page Review...

    20 November 2011 - 05:53 PM

    Hi Guys,

I'd appreciate your opinions on this draft of the home page I'm designing for a property website build. Cheers guys.

P.S. The pink is part of the brand, so nothing I can do about it in the logo. Cheers.

I haven't been on here for ages. Hows it going. I can't remember which website we met on. I've been a member here for a while but don't get many replies to my posts, any ideas on how I can improve this? Is it just a case of being a contributory member?
In response to the question you posted here a while ago, my username for most things is fathernugen. Take it easy.
