If I understand you, and I think I do, you were saying that in order to get your point across it was necessary to phrase it in that way in the OP, without being restrained.

I have to disagree. Using words like that is a poor substitute for intelligent conversation. People should be able to articulate their point without resorting to gutter speak.

It is a shame, but your original post has clearly not gone done well - and for good reason (regardless of the issues you raised which may or may not be valid, that has now become irrelevant)

No, i'm not saying confrontation is the way to spark the right type of debate. That would be ridiculous and flawed logic, especially being in an industry were the best examples are set with happy living and working environments.

Nothing lost in translation when I confronted Ben with the whole "wanka", I stand by it. His decisions are inconsiderate, agree or not. I observed the impact and now some of the posts here have confirmed it's not just me.

This thread is now a combination of tit for tat and some points worth debating.

Maybe my tact could have been a little more fun loving, but why would I want to do that in a community i've given a fair amount to for it only to bite me at first chance?

Fully accept that this is not the opinion of all, or even the majority but in a forum environment the feelings are generally heard. Just seems like this feeling fell on deaf ears before it even surfaced.

The only problem with the looking to hire section was spam posts.

This is such a negative demoralising thread that doesn't help anyone - yourself included.

Your other thread raised some interesting points but if only you'd raised these new points in a different way it could have been a good discussion?

Yeah good points but again tone, context etc some things get lost in translation.

    Bad example coming up...

Say you had a box in which you kept a spare jumper and a pair of socks that you forgot about for most of the year. You had a friend come over in the Winter who had only a thin t-shirt and his socks were wet from the walk to your place.

If someone had put a lock on that box, how useful was the jumper to your friend?

    'common-as-muck' haha love it.

"From one struggling web designer to another" why do you get the impression Ben is a struggling designer? think this site looks very well and i'd say he is a very good designer. usually good designers rise to the top meaning i doubt he is struggling. especially the way things are at the minute. business is booming for most designers i know.

I don't know him personally and quite possibly given his small affiliations he's doing okie which will afford him the cushion to make mistakes. But as i've pointed out, he failed here... with the specific examples above.

None the less, the thread is getting close to a flame war and that's pointless for us all.

    "Ben you're a wanka" - <<< This is what i'm referring too.
I know you don't care but you lost my respect with that comment. Also "Common-as-muck Alzer". :unknw:

Yeh I feel with the spirit of open forum and community debate before going fee paying these items should have been put to the community. If i've missed that standard practice please point me to those posts.

Well, your opinion is your own and you're entitled to that.

Al was right the TURNIP RETURNS.

If it's that bad why is he still posting.

Get a life. You have come her spoiling for a fight you got one because nobody agreed with you so you are back here continuing to talk utter rubbish. Why don't you just talk your unwanted opinions and nonsense to a forum that actually cares what you think.

Mmm turnip? Round, vegetable which provided nourishment? Gone-yersel-wee-chap
