ExpressionEngine is my first choice because it's far easier for designers to make templates/designs for than Wordpress, which will require a lot more programming.

I also found an ExpressionEngine alternative.

It works in the same way as EE. You can create multiple "blogs", and have different input fields for each one. For your main blog items you can have Title/Body. For your portfolio blog items you can have Title/Description/Image, etc, etc.

Then you can just grab any piece of data you want and put it on any page using the template system. So much easier than Wordpress/copycats.

    Finally, I found one! http://www.heroframework.com

It works just like EE. You create multiple content types (blogs), choose a bunch of custom fields for each one, then publish content to them. Then use the templates to position everything.

I would say the way it handles content is more important than the templating. Templating will still be a pain if I can't grab any piece of data I want.

Are there any CMS's like this?

It doesn't have to be free, but I was hoping there would be a serious free alternative by now.

It's not even for a client, just me creating a website for fun that won't make much money.
