you cant add the background image to the img tag as it will go behind said image. if you set the a tag properly and the same size you can set a z-index on the a tag in theory

Thanks for the reply.
I'd like to keep the original image under the new image.
I have a content div, inside is about 6+ different images, all the same size.
No matter which image I hover, I want the attached image to display over it(the image is transparent, getting dark towards the edges)
It's not a button, just an image as a link.
