Deliver an img to IE only
24 February 2012 - 12:07 PM
Hi All,
I'm having a little problem with an img... as we know ie6 does not show transparent pngs without hacks... im trying to go hack free and use valid markup...
My logo is a png... works fine in every browser, only ie6 and down is the problem... i have a conditional css sheet targeting ie6
My markup is this:
<div id="logo"> <a href="index.html"><img src="images/global/logo.png" width="138" height="156" alt="" /></a> </div><!-- /logo -->
As you can see the img is inline and not a background img... how can i deliver a jpg of the img to ie? so i want to take away the png, then replace it with the jpg... i know i can do it as a background img in the css but is there an inline way to do it?
thanks -
Google Adsense
22 August 2011 - 04:37 PM
Hi All,
I have seen it quite a lot that websites have given hover effects to their Google Adsense. Does anyone know how this can be done? I can't find any help on the Google Help topics (maybe I did not look in the right place?) and can't find it anywhere else...
Do I do it through my Adsense panel or do I need to use CSS? If so, what id's or class's do i need to use?
The best example I have is here:
<a href="http://vimeo.com/28006098">Vimeo</a>
scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see 'Sponsored Links'... they are Google Adsense adverts and have a hover effect going from blue to red.
Thanks in advance for your help
regards

CSS won't format
23 June 2011 - 10:59 AM
Hi All,
I have no idea what is going on with this at the minute, it was all fine a day or 2 ago and it's now gone funny...
I have a huge gap at the bottom of my page that I can't get rid of...
Also I have placed the 'div' "copy" and the 'div' "my-website-info" inside the footer wrapper AND inside the full-wrapper but they do not look inside... if i add a height to either of the divs full wrapper and footer wrapper then they look inside... but that still does not get rid of the huge gap!
take a look... http://travelingtheworld.co.uk/
if you need any other info, please ask.. thanks -
MAMP install
01 June 2011 - 03:21 PM
Hello all, I am what you call an idiot so please bear with me!
Goal: To install MAMP and be able to control wordpress locally (through dreamweaver) to edit my own theme.
Problem: I cant create a database as every time I hit phpMyAdmin it says this:
Error
MySQL said:
#2002 - The server is not responding (or the local MySQL server's socket is not correctly configured)
I have installed MAMP on my mac and when I reach the local host page it says everything is fine...
Welcome to MAMP
If you can see this page, MAMP is installed
on your Mac and everything is working!
I have searched endlessly for a dummies guide to solve this but all I can find is terminal inputs which I have tried nervously as I don't know what I am executing! I have tried to uninstall MAMP etc but no change.
Not sure if you need any other details so please ask and ill try and find them...
p.s If you know another way of editing a theme away from my wordpress site (i.e changes wont be visible when editing and then can be uploaded) I am all ears.
Thanks in advance,
