oh yes, should have said it's wordpress...
I think the people you would be writing the posts could cope with short code for flv.. if I add the KPVS plugin or whatever it is that means you type [flv: url] but does that mean I need a plugin for flv and a plugin for swf shortcode? I'm using latest wordpress and can't seem to find a plugin that does everything. Or are there built in shortcodes I can use? Sorry for my ignorance, struggling to get my head round this.
Thanks -

Arh yes, think you're right. Thanks, I hadn't heard of ClearType before, so that's the new thing I've learnt today.
I haven't figured out how to fix it yet though...I've been using this solution but can't figure out what element I am supposed to target. Any ideas? -

Might help if you posted the version of IE that's causing you problems and the version of Windows you're running it on because browsers rely on the OS' text rendering engine.
Thanks for checking. Seems to be all versions of IE....(except haven't checked 9 yet) I've tried it on PC which runs Vista and laptop that has Windows XP. I've attached an image, where text on left is what shows when it first opens, then a second later it adjusts itself to look like the text on the right...
