To study or not to study? Very expensive!

Hey
Hey
Just stumbled across the discussion on the CIW course... I myself have just been looking into this course at the Home Learning College and the comments have kinda thrown me! Have you started the Adobe one instead? And if so what do you think of it? I'd appreciate any feedback - I'm pretty much a total newcomer to the world of web design. Cheers, Katie.

Hi Katie,
Sorry for not replying earlier. I havent been on here for a while. I havent done either. I took the advice that a good portfolio and alot of experience is best. Apparently most Employers do not even know what CIW is so it seems to be a con (or not worth it at least) as it has no credibility and companies such as computeach charge £1700ish.
My advice would be to learn as many scripting language as you can (PHP, HTML etc) and get a god portfolio.
