When it starts costing you money or to much time that's when to reevaluate the situation. I might have a peek and see what's going around on there for a laugh.
Cool just don't don't stay too long or you'll get sucked into the vortex!
lol
One other thing I forgot to mention in my original ramblings was that they take $1 for every 5 you make, take into account paypal fees and you end up with under £2.50 a gig. They also keep your money for 2 weeks (no explanation is given for why) so yeah..not the best way to make money online. -

I also don't think it's a good site even the concept is horrible. I don't plan on going on there and i never will.
Yeah the only reason I signed up in the first place was to offer fun things that took a couple of minutes like doing face replacement on photoshop. Once you get a few orders it becomes quite addictive to keep adding gigs and getting orders but after a while you realise I'm doing massive amounts for work for very little money. I'm new to web/graphic design so I thought it'd be a good way to learn whilst learning a little bit of money but it actually ends up hindering your progress as you get overwhelmed and have no time to really improve at anything.
Oh well. It was a learning experience if nothing else. -

Just posting the solution renaissance sent me via PM
New products slider: "Set Product as New from Date" attribute.
Best sellers is populated by products with the most number of sales. I put through a test order which you can delete - it's got my name on, shipping to 1 Test St, Testington. There's also a shopping basket price rule I created so I wouldn't have to pay for the test order, you can kill that too.

Thanks again for your help -

Thanks for the suggestions but a lot of that went over my head lol -
I have set the attributes that I want to be searchable in quick search now. I notice a lot of their items have no meta title or descriptions so I tried adding them and making those attributes searchable in quick search but still no luck.
Can you just explain to me in layman's terms how to do these two things you mentioned -
"all DB tables are in utf-8 (if one has somehow accidentally got switched to ucs2 it'll arse up fulltext searching) "
"It's also worth checking the ft_min_word_len and ft_max_word_len MySQL system variables."
I would be very grateful
