SSH and htaccess files

Can anyone shed some light on the following?
I'm using SSH to create a tar archive of entire site. When I do this everything is saved fine and I can restore the site too. However, my .htaccess never seem to be tar'ed at all.
Any ideas? -

List things that you wished you had included in your web quotes E.g. things that you;ve had to learn to hard way to know about
For me:
- Adding content into a clients website. Had to specify how much I'll add, that's it's only textual content and that I won;t be proof reading it all

By "commercial SEO" I refer to on and offiste SEO etc for a paying client on website and excludes CRO.

OK, so I've seen the seo certifed company/individual badge on a lot of seo websites lately - http://seocertificat...allbusiness.php
Straight to the point, what are your opinions on this?
For me, purely from a business point of view:
- Builds trust
- Customers have something to go off, as SEO is stupidly grey
- Is something solid you can put on your CV

Magento Pricing Discounts Question

Hi,
Another Magento question - have hit a dead end here unfortunately.
I have an item that has discounted price showing within the categoiry listing page - the discount should not be there.
The item itself has no discount price within the admin area or is part of any pricing rules either - although there's a possibility it could have been in the past before I inherited the site. However, in the current pricing rules I can;t see anything that affect this.
Can anyone suggest anything else to try? I seem to have 4 rogue seperate products doing this.

20 Dec 2010 - 19:02Was similar to you. Didn't like how he was trying to fool users by calling the folder secure, when it wasn't at all. Also pointed out the fact his post was pure seo spam. Also made a little comment about his potential 'all flash web design', which made me lol, especially for an apparent company that wants to give a good image. :)
