Learning the Zend framework

Hi,
I was wondering if any of you have any advice for a newcomer to the Zend framework. I have just made a start on some of the tutorials http://framework.zen...te-project.html ; is there anywhere else to recommend for getting started?
I have done a good deal of programming of customised modules & components within the Joomla! CMS ; and I have also used the Joomla! 1.5. API to create standalone web applications using MVC design patterns.
Is this roughly similar to what's involved with using Zend for a web project? Also, as Zend installs Apache 2 as part of the package, does this mean I can just use Zend instead of using other programs, like XAMPP, to manage the Apache set-up?
