I think its funny that a huge company like Sony keeps data on their customers unencrypted, the first thing I taught myself about PHP is how to encrypt to keep information secure. What the crackers have done to break their system is great meaning they might actually invest in better security and stop trying to make as much profit as possible and relying on insecure data systems.
I have often thought about becoming a hacker/cracker, the knowledge isn't the hard part. Its avoiding the police, you often see the news about people getting arrested and frankly I'd rather not get arrested. But I don't see why the companies dont turn it on its head and say to the chap that's hacked them "You got through our system, come work for us to fix it" when that guy gets out of jail he will just do it again but thats the cycle I guess. -

Sounds like college to me.
Teachers didn't have a clue, I knew more about programming then the teachers. Then when I was doing it a different way to what they wanted they didn't give me the grade I deserved.
Just go with it, tick the boxes don't just send it via email give them a hard copy as well.
After 2 years at college I now have a piece of paper saying I can code in out of date technologies and methods. Woooo. -

You will need to get in contact with HSBC and see what they say about the matter. If you are not confident in doing it yourself I would hire a web developer who knows what he is doing and see if they can give you tips on how to do it correctly mainly because it is peoples credit card information and its something that shouldn't be taken lightly. -

The music industry is killing itself...
£1 for a song, I DJ as well and for a high quality MP3 its £2 (there or thereabouts) its a stupid amount to pay for 1 song. But unfortunately thats what I have to pay.
What does it is that people are able to go and get a RS or MU account for €7 or so and download as much as they want off warez sites, within 6 songs they have their money back.
If the music industry adapted to the internet as they did CD's there might not be as much piracy, I was reading on another forum that in Canada whenever someone buys a MP3 player (iPod, generic ect) they pay an extra £50-£100 on top and they allows them to download as much free music as they want. Sounds like a good idea to me!
Not sure if that previous statement is correct its just what someone said on another forum.
