I have a video file I want to add bog standard controls to like play, pause and stop, but I can't find any options on how to do it!
Everything I google is a product you have to pay for but I'm sure its something that flash can do, am I wrong?

Help me please!

If it helps I have full CS3 studio everything!

Hello

In the Flash click on File->Import->Import Video... - This will open the Video Import Wizard. Use the browse button to find the video file + select it. Flash will use this file to create a .flv file - the original will not be changed.

On the next page it will ask you how you want to deploy the video - progressive download from a web server is a good option.

The encoding page allows you to mess with the video - ok to do nothing on this page.

The next page contains the skins/controls for the movie - use the drop down menu to choose one you like + pick the color.

Read the info on the next page - its useful - click on Finish + Flash will encode your video for you.

The controls, which are a FLVPlayback component, will appear on the stage when the video has finished encoding. By clicking on the video on the stage and selecting the parameters tab from the properties panel - then click on the skin option - use the drop down menu to change the video player controls.
