Hi,

I want to set up a website that can allow chat / comments once registered. I've looked into forum software and they seem to have too much functionality. For example, I'd rather not have Avatars. I just want to keep it fairly simple graphically and have the next comment on a topic appear next in the list and want to avoid nested replies etc.

I've looked at so many options but seem to be getting lost.

Here is an example of what I'm trying to achieve.

(You may have to get rid of the pop-up first.

I'm trying to achieve the chat column in the middle. With a login function to allow permission to post.

Should I use live chat software, forum software, blog software or comment box functionality? I'm a bit lost with this. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Web Guru,

I've been looking at Vanilla Forums and it does look like it might do the trick. Thank you!
