Just to give that broken record another spin - blimey this one was tough! Not only were all the designs great, but all so different - that's what made it hard for me to pick. Good stuff and good luck, whoever wins it'll be a great design. :good:

Safe in the knowledge that you're (in the opinions of a few unnamed people) 11th at best out of July's submissions...

I think I'll pass.

Most of the websites this month are awesome.

I have a concern with Gizmo's site as the waves at the bottom are a trace of a Hokusai and I can't see a credit anywhere which I feel should be there, I don't recognise the rest of the doodles but are they traces too?

It is indeed the famous wave, i'm yet to put that project on my site, but basically we had a retro packaging design unit, and mine was based on woodcut pictures from that era, i've got to take some pictures of the boxes I made - Big Mac, Cup and Fries :) So as soon as I get the pictures taken and sorted, now I got my final pieces back last week, I'll have that unit and another up on the site with a short description.

The other pictures are a character from one of my animations, and a background from another, both done in illustrator...

Cheers for the votes everyone, well chuffed :good:

just wondering, on what basis do you cast your vote? Is it the actual design, coding, is the design trendy enough, friendship with the designer?

Design. This is the web design forums after all.

I do like your site cosmetically, but I prefer light coloured sites (ironically mine isn't).

I vote after considering design, content, accessibility but usually don't look at code as I assume they are all coded to the highest standards (rightly or wrongly).

Asthetics is most important to me. then the functionality. I don't look at code either ( I check for tables of course)

I think this varies depending on the individual voting Curv. I'd also add peer opinion and individual vogue (that may be the same as trendy dependent on ones defintion of trendy i.e. my definition of Punk is hugely different to yours) to the list.

Personally I've yet to vote for the winner (ok Rob excluded cos we all love him and he's super duper ;-))...so clearly I'm not with the WDF 'vogue'.

There's really no right and wrong here, design is so subjective, there's nowt accounts for taste (old northern proverb) and THE BIRDIE SONG got to number one as I always console myself.

That's not to take away from any winners I didn't vote for.

good luck all

:flm7:

Edit: Just looked at voting so far and to be honest I'm astonished that Ben Hodgson has no votes yet - it's my second choice.

I'm still quite new to this whole web game, so have alot more to learn about coding, and the right way of doing things before I could really bring that into my choice... So over the two months I've voted so far I've based my decision on the actual site appearance, and the usability...
