I paid £40 for my bluetooth mightymouse and its a very poor product by apple standards. I've heard a lot of people say the same thing, so I was wondering if anyone knows of any really good (and by good I mean comfortable to use and accurate) mice ?

I gave up on my Mighty Mouse after developing RSI in the back of my hand. My favourite mice are the heavyweight Logitech ones like the wireless MX Laser series however the batteries in my first one died and the current one has some glitchy driver so the cursor hops about all over the shop when selecting text.

So now I'm using "old faithful" - a wired Logitech dual optical mouse from about 2003 :)

Currently using Logitech G7, which is a wireless gaming mouse. Comes with 2 batteries which used to last a few days when I originally got the mouse, but after what must be a year and a half or so, the batteries only seem to last 1 day (around 3-4 hours of use).

The problem with some of the Logitech range is that they are right handed only.

Only a problem if you're a southpaw ;)

That one looks really good actually - like the sort of thing I'm looking for, but.. a few hours? I don't like the ergonomics of the mightymouse but I use it 12-14 hours a day and the batteries last 2 months!

When new it got around 8-10 hours, but like I said it is a gaming mouse, the laser in it will use more power. May be worth looking at one of the lesser office use ones or even the Microsoft mice.

Or that. I get fed up with the wire after a while though.

my mouse is a wireless Microsoft one, which I love it is comfortable and so smooth, plus the batteries go for months :)

The may not do OS's very well but their mouse and keyboard that I have are the best I have had, and trust me in my many years I have gone through so many different keyboards and mice to find the perfect one for me, two years down the line with this one and should it break I will be replacing it with the same one (I hope)

The best mouse is, without a doubt, DangerMouse!!!! :pp

lol

I use a logitech one, but can't remember what model it is!

It does the job, and is comfortable enough, so that'll do!

:hi: i don't know the exact number of my mouse but it's a wired logitech lazer mouse. I heard from lots of designers state side that wireless is not as precise as wired so I'm sticking with wired. I found it: MX400

I highly recommend it. 8)

I have an MX Laser 1000 series, which is wireless and comes with a ickle recharging stand for the batteries. I've had it about 18 months I think and it's fab. Reasonably heavy and nice and chunky - fits my hand really well. It also has a couple of extra features on it like scroll-up, scroll-down buttons and app changer. Not sure if the SetPoint software that manages it work on Mac though you'd have to check.

I love logitech stuff, but I also agree with Dizi that MS mice are nice! I have an old & basic 2buttons + wheel optical wired MS mouse also plugged in as backup for the rare occasions where I forget to charge the mouse. That mouse is good, but basic and not fabulously ergonomic. I find the logitech much more comfy.

Oh P.S. the batteries last AGES on it I'm not sure how long but I think about 5 days to a week of my 10-15 hour usage - and that's from full charge to dead - the trick is to get into the habit of charging it over night :)

I've replaced my mouse with a small Wacom Bamboo tablet and just thought I would try how much I could do with it before I buy a new mouse. I haven't even thought about buying a mouse since then, and was very surprised how well it works for general desktop usage. I even play my favourite game with it and it works superbly (EVE-Online). Many games don't properly work with it of course.

There are pros and cons to the tablet compared to a mouse, but comfort and accuracy are fantastic. And of course it's perfect for graphics related work, although some might prefer a larger tablet for that (which may not be so comfortable for other tasks). I for one am happy that I don't have to shuffle a mouse and a tablet on my desk, and if I had to choose one now, I'd always pick the tablet.

Some good suggestions here, thanks guys :)

I agree with ErisDS, the MX 1000 is briliant. The batteries usually last a couple of days but I just pop mine on the charge stand at the end of each day so it isn't a problem.

I've had mine over a year and it's taken a bit of a hammering but it still works great and feels good in your hand. I've had RSI in the past with other mice and find this one is a lot better.

P.S. I don't work for Logitech :)

I am starting to get RSI and I am looking to change my mouse. I am thinking a trackball might be a good idea, I used one for years when I was 12-15 and loved it, I am also hoping it will take the strain off of my hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. Does anyone know which are the best ones around at the moment? http://www.amazon.co...9384830&sr=8-15 that one looks nice??

This.

Had my mx518 for about 4-5 years, amazing mouse and so cheap now. Although I think I over clocked it and it started to die eventually, I settled for a Logitech g700 in the end. I'm very impressed. Nice n weighty, plenty of buttons and incredibly accurate. 5700dpi is too much for me coming from an mx518, had to drop it down a tad. It's also wireless and seems to last a good while with no lag but also comes with a usb lead to charge it while in use or use as a wired mouse. Even has a sexy scroll wheel. Cant fault it and would highly recommend it.

m518 for cheaps, g700 if you want to pay a bit more and/or want wireless as well as wired. IMHO.
