So for those who didn't make the meeting last night we discussed a great many things including curry, poo, contracts, and mountain climbing. We also mentioned JavaScript once or twice.

@citypaul gave us some homework which can be found on the slack channel. You will need the link there to do it and it involves watching videos.

Some of us were were making our own forEach functions to better understand callbacks.

I don't remember a huge amount of Javascript, but I'm sure it did get the odd mention :-)

Yeah, if you can checkout the link I posted in the slack channel and watch that video that would be cool :-)

For those that have managed to build their own forEach and perhaps map functions and want some more - have a try at creating your own reduce and filter functions.

https://developer.mo...ts/Array/reduce

https://developer.mo...ts/Array/filter

Not only does making these get you more familiar with callbacks and the functional programming style it will also help your understanding of the actual functions themselves which are very heavily used.  I used many of these array functions throughout my answers to the node-questions.  I've now add the questions to my answers for the learnyounode tutorial series for those who wish to compare: https://github.com/r...-node-solutions

Also Codeschool has a node.js course and an express.js course that covers some things that the tutorials on learnyounode they are well worth digging into.

Yay! I finished the node exercises :D https://github.com/T...unode-solutions. (My answer to Q13 is "somewhat influenced" by Robert's answer lol, sorry).

Going through the rest - forEach, map, reduce, filter...

My file is here https://github.com/T...master/mixed.js but I'll be updating it!

P.S. Looks like you've had fun at the last meeting, I'll make sure I don't miss the next one :D

Nice work teodora. Nothing wrong in looking at answers, just try to understand why they work etc. Im going through CodeScool's Node and Express courses. They're very good.

Thank you :)

Maybe we can set "homework" that includes the other tasks? For example create 2 JS arrays, filter by value, etc, etc?

Bravo Teodora!!!

I'm also going through the ones on Code School. It seems I'm getting struck with work once again which is eating into my studying time ;)
