Social media has become mainstream and as someone said: every media becoming social. I always think some brands and their attitudes to social media, content marketing, management. It is clear from every angle, except from view, that most brands are overlooking the "social" in front of the social media. This is what sets social media apart from other kinds of media. To excel in social media, you begin with cultivating a social media mindset. Most have not understood what this platform offers. To make sure you walk in the right way, the following are 5 Big Mistakes in Social Media Marketing that you must to know.

Only entry into social media

Many peoples using social media makes a lot of others just went along to use social media as part of the trend. Many of them are often simply create an account and securing their business name, but after that no further follow-up on. Some others try to activate them, but often inconsistent and imprecise communication style.

Do not set targets

The target to be achieved is one important thing that I and the team always emphasize to our clients. This is a standard set by some big companies. However, very unfortunate, my friends business are often not aware of this, so since there is no target is pursued many of them are only making 'let it flow'.

Too many sales

The goal of social media is to be able to increase the turnover and profit of our efforts, but often do not quite right. The basic principle of social media is 'Share first, then selling', but many are often swapping it. We usually use a proportion of 80 : 20 for the use of content where as simplicity is in content 5, 4 content is useful things and 1 content to inform product.

Inconsistent

Consistency is an important thing that must be applied in all things, including in social media. When you as a user of social media and you see a brand appears on your timeline for 2-3 days, but after that it disappeared and a that brand appeared about 2-3 months later, do you think it is good and worth to following? of course not. Therefore try to be consistent in Social Media.

Do not have a specialized team

Like it or not to build a social media accounts required investment of time and expense to make this strategy can walk up. I'm sure many of you who is the owner of a business so that the time you have a very valuable thing to promote your business at this time. Therefore, we always recommend that you do not do the technical stuff for social media, build a specialized team focused to take care of this matter so that your time can be used to take care of things that are more strategic. Other alternative than to build an internal team, you also can use the service provider (agency) to assist developing your social media accounts in which each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Do you also do from the five points above? If you do not, it's good for your marketing. But if yes, you must to turn around your social media marketing. Please share this article if you get a benefit after read it. Thank you !

Most people join social media to sale first, then share which is leads to failure of social media strategy. The sharing of information on social media could make positive impact to engage with interested people and then we can just try to sell.

many businesses fail due to their wrong social media strategy.

When it comes to social media, it's very important to follow the trends and know what's in at any give time. Unfortunately, there are so many people who don't use the potential of SM or don't even know how to use them so their businesses are bound to fail.

the big social media mistake is when people avoid checking facebook insights even posting too much post in their timeline. They dont know that facebook insight will provide lots of useful information regarding audience interaction, their response level and their communication style and just posting too much post is also not up to the mark, it is very important to provide engaging content which can be done by posting 3 or 4 post in a day.

I couldn't agree more about this on consistency. Even if you don't have anything new on your blog for a few days, it's good to share some of your old posts for example, and remind people about them.

Yes, I woudl agree it is a lot about consistency, but I would also add another point which is about not communicating with yoru fans. There are lots of Facebook pages, where page fans are asking lots of questions and they simply do not get an answer> I would say this is a critical mistake as it shows how much you don't care and do not appreciate people who are liking your page.

However, you can find a lot of people exactly who avoid using the probable connected with SM as well as will not perhaps realize how to rely on them therefore their particular companies are destined for you to don't succeed.

Why is this a mistake?

If you sell concrete fence posts B2B I doubt you would need any sort of Social Medai strategy.

At least you wont sell them to the fruit market :) Right ? The strategy here would be to look for people who seek for this product, go to some construction conference, contact people who use these posts. Something like that.

I agree! It's all about providing valuable content which attracts your ideal buyer persona and strenghtens existing relationships, while establishing your company as an authority in the industry. Once you have the authority, getting sales is much easier.

Agreed. But you said it was a mistake not to have any social media strategy. Meeting people at a conference isn't a social media strategy.

You are right that meeting at a conference isn't social media strategy:) That was just example that you have to target the right audience. I thing that for finding the right clients you have to have strategy. Maybe over 90% of serious companies if not more have sites, facebook page and any social media sign. I don't say i am 100% right, thats just my logic.

Another mistake that the people usually make is that they target wrong audience for their product. People start business because the public has expressed a need or the business person sees a need for the product they want to make available. Defining the target audience will allow you to speak directly through color, images and other promotional material. For increasing the sales of the product, every company target a specific audience because targeting everyone cost a lot of money.

People are doing so many mistakes while doing social media as below:

You have a plan to make the project popular, but you don’t have a plan how to get there
Getting all over social media. You want to be seen everywhere
Being afraid of commitment
Failure to determine the target audience
Branding inconsistency
This tought: Social media is one thing, my website is another
Obvious selling psychology
Not feeling the rhythm
Being a copycat
Full, boring URLs in the status updates
Failure to take advantage of measuring
Abandoning updates as soon as you share them

Just take a look and avoid some mistakes that not good for your business.
