First thread in our new node.js forum :)

I think it will be great to have an initial chat and go through everything, decide what we're going to do and how we'll do it :D

See when everyone can attend.

I'd really like to get into this, I find myself using JS in one flavour or another a lot more than I used to.

Who's up for a meeting next week and what time works for you?

Maybe something like Thursday evening - are evenings OK?

I'll contribute as and where I can but not sure if I will be free at a particular time.  Maybe we could post a transcript or something of the chat so I and maybe others can contribute at a later time/date :)

Great :)

@citypaul suggested using Slack - it has archiving.

Would that work for everyone?

Thursday evening should be ok for me. My daughter is usually fast asleep by 8pm ish (normally earlier, but by 8 it's pretty much guaranteed), so I'll tend to be available around that time.

Slack is great, but the annoying thing is that it seems people can only gain access if I invite them - not sure if there's another way.

If people want to PM me their email addresses, I'll send invites out.

The room is at: https://wdforum.slack.com

I'm down for this. I'm free most nights, accept Friday really.

I did look at building an invite page (https://www.npmjs.com/package/slackin), but I didn't progress much with it. It would be nice to revisit at some point.

I'll probably have to catch up later in the evening as I'm going out for a few hours. Looking forward to this, though! I joined that Bitovi JS session last night that one of you guys mentioned. It was great!

What about another meeting this Thursday around the same time?

We can go through the exercises we struggle with and compare answers.

What do you think?

Eeeek, I need to try and get learnyouthenode completed then. I'll try my best!

Don't worry @NOCK, I don't think everyone has completed the exercises. I am struggling with Q9 myself and while I can put together a passable solution, I don't really understand the concept.

It will be nice to compare answers, see where is everyone, maybe define some future goals and generally just have a nice time without pressure :D

@rbrtsmith - looking at express sounds good :) Maybe just talking about it at this stage?

Drop me a PM if you need some assistance on Q9 :)  And yeah sure we can discuss express, we don't wanna be moving too quickly :)

Definitely not. All we've done so far installed learnyouthenode from http://nodeschool.io/#workshoppers and worked through the exercises. Some have completed them all, I've only completed about 5 of them.

I've only done through question 6. I'm a bit caught up with work but hopefully I'll get a chance to do a few more before Thursday. This http://www.codewars....uage=javascript is pretty entertaining for anyone who wants to freshen up on their JavaScript.

I'll probably hang around in the chat room tonight, if anyone wants to go through some of the challenges. I've only completed up to 10 but will try and go through the rest later.

I completed the Javascripting course last night: http://nodeschool.io/#workshopper-list. It is quite basic but a good refresher.

I might have to try that. I like that they have php :)

It's a great website. They have support for many different languages on there. So far, I've only done JavaScript challenges, but would eventually like to do some C# and PHP :)
