For all of you who have managed to get FF3 already, what do you think of it?

I managed to get mine through their FTP thanks to Goldstein Media. ftp://mozilla.isc.org/pub/mozilla.org/fir....0/win32/en-US/

To say I'm disappointed is an understatement.
Still seems very buggy to me.
Freezing my computer constantly, won't refresh tabs unless you click on another open tab.
Testing on my local server an impossibility, takes too long.
Wish I hadn't bothered.
Why all the hype?
The last 3 version I used was the beta 5 on Linux and that was crap too.
I really hoped for the bugs to be gone but (for me at least) no.
I have used Firefox for the past 3 years as my main browser and love it.
But at the moment, it feels like I'm wishing the best for England in a World Cup football match; despearately want them to get it right but to no avail.
I have uninstalled and gone back to the previous version.
After sampling Opera 9.5, I might just be heading that way as well.
C'mon Mozilla, you can do better than this!!!

And colorzilla doesn't work with it. :(

I love it, lots of new toys and noticably faster than version 2. It's certainly less of a memory hog :)

I am wanting to see how to set up the spell checker, so went to the BLANK Help Page

I'm finding the address bar annoying, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Checked my websites and they all still seem to work :good:

I'll give it another go later on today

But what do you think of the final version. You did download the final right?

Also I think we should all get together and develop a WDF forum Extension for FF3 so that we can be connected to the forum and post to it when we're surfing around. Thoughts? I'll start a thread for it. Edit: Here's the url to the forum thread: http://www.webdesign...?showtopic=7713

All seems fine to me, although I have been using the betas and RC's. The address bar is a shock, initially, but I really like it now. The speed improvements on the Mac are my main reason for rejoicing. I can now have many more tabs open without it grinding to a halt. Also like the page zooming, particularly how it remembers your zoom settings on a per website basis.

Its great, but not groundbreaking.

My first impression.... AMAZING! WOOO It has only crashed 1 time since I got it, and that was when I had about 15 - 20 tabs open :pp

ElanMan, you might need to do a virus scan or something, because it works EXCELLENT on my computer(s)...

Definitely not a virus problem.
Don't know whether it's a conflicting software issue or just something ompletely random?
Either way I can't be bothered to mess about with it.

Ive found a small problem with FF3, Windows XP, ClearType and Lucida Sans.

Lucida Sans doesnt display properly on XP with Cleartype disabled on FF3, whereas it does fine on FF2.
But apart from that, it's great :)

I have on gripe... That bug that was in FF 1.5 and 2 the one where you close it and the CPU spikes to 99% -100% usage and kills your PC's performance untill you shut it down... IS BACK. but i don't know where to report it

Have been using it for over a week and it seems pretty good for me on my vista pc compare to internet explorer which is way too slow, overall firefox satisfy me but one thing I don't like is that when opening a new tab in firefox you have to right click on the current bar and select new tab on by just double clicking on the empty space beside the current bar which most people might not notice this as internet explorer only needs to click once on the small box at the side but since firefox is in beta version now, lets see when the official completed version launch how will it be like lol.....

I like it alot better than IE or FF2, one think that really anoys me though is the password remember box. I store a few passowords on here, and i prefer by far having the pop up box than the line accross the top!
On my Vista it works fast, never crashed, but uses qite alot of memory some times.

But yeah, I recoment it!

OK! I have re-installed FF3 - 3 times now - yes THREE TIMES! and every time without fail it comes up with error report and crashes then after a restart it works, so problems over yes?....... NO WAY HOSAY! :shok:

Im getting weird stuff like web pages without CSS, address bar not responding when I have entered a url, and connection errors saying it cant connect to a website.

Before anyone asks, my system is secure, virus and spy wear free (im a little paranoid on that front :pp), its a very stable setup with no problems to date apart from bloody FF3!

Big disappointment, so I have uninstalled it and put version 2 back on - I left uninstall feedback on the Mozilla site and it was interesting to see that I am not alone in these problems.

Im just gonna wait until I hear that they have come out with a fix for these problems and then I will try again.

runs faster, uses less ram, looks nice whats not to like. ALthough i do not like the history coming up all the time when typing a url. For example if i went to the bbc site it will give me links to pages ive viewed already i prefer them to show links i type not ones i click.

For people who are having problems with FF3 you can download version 2 from Mozilla here.

I think they did that because the info bar doesn't stop the page load. The popup stops the page load to ask you if you want to remember the pass.

I like it - haven't had any of the problems reported here, and I too love that the page layout keeps proportional when you resize the text as in IE7/Opera. One thing I'm not too fond of is the one dropdown for both the back/forward buttons -> if you've got a lot of history there's too much clicking to be done to get way back/forwards!
