I just updated my Opera to the latest version 9.5 to give it a run.

It is faaaast! I'm not kidding, it's the fastest browser I've ever user, pages render like lightning - but there agin they did promised it was 2x as fast as the previous version :)

It looks cool, it's fast, but it crashes on Vista.

*waiting for SP1 or w/e*

Yeh I know that, but it really is twice as fast as it was before - amazing :)

It honestly makes me think when I open up IE to do some checking and I see it take forever to load pages. Been an opera user for a few years now and I'll still impressed at how fast its rendering is.

Opera 9.5 is quite simply amazing in terms of performance. I ditched Firefox for it when developing on a slow laptop. It has some font rendering issues on Linux but I'm so tempted to make it my primary browser, seriously it's that good. The "widgets" aren't on par with the likes of Firefox's extensions but this is probably the first time the browser can compete in terms of features and not just performance.

I remember last time I tried Opera it used to have adverts on it that you had to pay to remove (hah, glad they figured that one out). :D

I downloaded opera portable primarily just to see if my site looked ok using it. Since then I have found myself using it more and more due to how fast it is. I was shocked when I opened it and saw how quickly the pages loaded.

I'm thinking now that Opera as it stands, or future versions may start to make people migrate from Firefox....

Opera is very fast, it's just a pity that it's an awful web browser when compared to Firefox, I've tried to use it many times, and can never get used to it, it's too bulky.

Downloaded this just this morning and I've already chosen to make it my default browser for doing simple browsing on the internet, love the look of it and it's very quick. Although I'll use Firefox for web design as I love all the extra plug ins I have for it.

There are serious issues with Opera 10 Beta though - it wouldn't allow me to login to Gmail and choked on various sites. So in this case beta really means beta - I wouldn't advise going near it until it's final release.

I had problems logging into gmail the whole time with Firefox, have had no problems yet with Opera 9.5.
