I know, I plan to redesign mine this year, but seeing how things are going, I think it might happen around December lol

I finished the re-design and 98% of the coding several months ago, its just been getting time to add the content and necessary screen shoots for the portfolio.

Just with work projects and various other projects i have had little or no time to spend the time on it but i have put aside the whole of today to complete it. So far im 2 hours into it and am very bored, this is the part of projects i hate ... At least at work i have someone who writes all the content for me LOL.

Hi folks,

Unfortunately due to a lack of submissions, WOTM won't be running this month.

Hopefully they'll be a backlog of sorts to carry over to next month to battle it out in the design/dev arena.

Until then...

I just purchased a new font for mine, so that should motivate me to start working on a design (until the next time I see a nice font I want to use, then I'm back to square one).

Buying a font to only end up using another one within the very near future and starting again. I have no idea what you mean. Not sure if the italics confirm my sarcasm. Always doing this. Even changed comps completely based on changing a font last minute.

What font was it if you don't-a mind-a me asking?

Portfolios are a horrendous thing to design, I've been there; you want your site to appear in line with current trends, you see effects on other people's sites you want to use, you use similar layouts to those on 'sites of the week' posts but you still want to get your own personality across.

My advice - stop looking at other people's websites, build a portfolio that represents your style and personality otherwise you'll end up in this never ending loop. Get your content sorted first and design a site that compliments your work.

I did have a site online. I took it down to make some alterations, and never put it live again.

Nanami, a Japanese inspired sans-serif. I've wanted it for ages, and the sale price is really good. I bought the web font version, that link goes to the print license ones.

Don't look at that site if you're a font whore, your wallet will suffer greatly. There's some real top-shelf fonts on there.

Nanami is great - I have it too :) Almost bought the massive bundle but I held out.

Yeh, the sale section on that site is deadly. I want this one too, but I can't think of a single use case for it. One day...

Oh really? Yeah - they have some really unique fonts but likewise, no idea what to use them for. There was an exclusive font they made for Net mag last year. Great insight, but again, what could you use the font for?

I'll just make a bunch of wine in the summer, and use that font on the label or something.
