Inspired by the grumble moan thread this thread is for the those moments of "ahhh finally fixed it/made it work/life is good" posts.

I'll start.

Whoohoo finally managed to get random posts from a specific category in wordpress to show! Only took me 3 days to be 100% happy with it!

Great, it will be good to have a "happy" thread, too! :)

Would you share how you did this? Also weren't you looking for random posts from random tag? If you managed this, I would be very interested to see how you did it :)

Excellent start to a new thread :)

I managed to complete a chapters of a project over the weekend and also starting to get an understanding on how to use social media (far too late to the party). Also, I reached my target for running today. Took longer than anticipated but had 'work commitments'.

Yeah sure, it was messy and dirty and ultimately it ended with me using an out of date plugin called Random Redirect 2. The plug in has not been updated in over 2 years (big risk I know) and you have to edit the main php file in the plugin if you use Jetpack. Now, it works, but I am going to work on it because it feels very hacked together. Nothing to really shout home about, and I'm sure a proper developer would be able to do something 'proper' without the need for a plugin haha.

I'm just relieved its finally working!

Its on ThatIsAwesome.net in my sig. Click on the quotes and then "random quotes".

haha thanks :)

Welcome to the social media party! Its very much a big learning curve for me too and it can sometimes be soul destroying but stick at it and learn from your mistakes, you'll do ok :)

What social media stuff you doing? If its something interesting I'd be keen to see it.

Always good to take care of our bodies. Something I really need to start doing!

Haha love the thread title.

Lost count of how many times I've ran into wordpress problems, and not being one to give up spent hours if not days trying to solve something that you would think was fairly simple (can't think of an example off the top of my head but I'm sure another one will come along sooner rather than later!).

The first time I've spoken to a big agency on the phone (talk talk, bbc, poker stars, financial times), quite tense. Were looking at hosting a site for them. It's all good experience.

Getting sacked off by one client despite having 2 websites in a top 3 ranking for a 3600 keyword and multiple websites in related locations but then the day after, being contracted to rank their competitor which now sits above them all hahahahahahahaha

It's not all bad! I have been working on some displays for print recently and I must say it's great compared to the web.

In a way that you don't have to think about how this or that will resize or take browsers into account.

*ha, ha, there might be some problems I still am not aware of like different printers requirements, colours, etc lol hope not

Great idea for a thread. Usually I just do a little dance and make myself a celebratory cup of tea with a biscuit.

I got the file upload working for uploading a cv to a front-end form in WordPress and I didn't have to resort to a plugin!

Magento kind of goes like this for me.

Hmmmm, nope. Ahhh, nope. Maybe......, nope. Ohhhhh, nope. This time, come on baby! Nope.

...

Ermm, maybe if I just. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

...

Eh, what's this checkbox? WOOHOOOOOOO!

That happened today when trying to set up a pretty complicated customer group pricing rule that also needed to allow special offers to be included.

I got a Senseo (Phillips) and am quite happy with it. Basically its really easy and the end result is perfect as far as I'm concerned. The dosettes (they're probably called something else in English) are quite reasonable compared to the capsule variety and you can get them in just about any brand including organic and fair trade varieties. I think the model I have was under 100€  but you can choose based on what you need. I suggest one with an adaptable spout so you're not restricted by the cup size and a limescale indicator if you have hard water.

I've had a traditional one before and although it did last many years it was a lot of work to make a cup of coffee and there was a lot of cleaning involved.
