I usually listen to an album from what ever band is my latest obsession. I do also love listening to albums that contain a lot of instrumentals, such as Deadmau5.

I enjoy listening to Deadmau5 while working. As I there aren't too many lyrics to get distracted by and the repetitive melody puts me in a sort of trance to keep focused.

I love listening to music while I work. Always a wide mix of genres but over time (including right now) I get bored of my playlist and want something new.

I tend to browse YouTube for some songs, but end up being distracted by all the recommended videos as well. Radio is an option but with adverts and the fact they keep playing everything that's in the top charts it gets boring quickly. Movie soundtracks always interest me for background music/noise, and yes admittedly some of which are from 'The Social Network' haha.

Wondered what type of music everyone else listens to while they work or just in general?

Tropical house is amazing for my productivity. It puts me in a good mood and at the same time I can focus.

These realaxing sets do the same thing for me. Focused and relaxed at the same time. Perfect combination:)

I've always considered him to be a really underrated musician, on the album Innervisions he plays every instrument, minus a few like background vocals and some percussion, it's incredible. I think the same goes with most of his music, he plays most, if not all of the stuff you hear.

Totally agree he's underrated, plus with the funk sound he's a favourite for me grooving in the studio ;)

I prefer listening to old songs while I work. The songs of 80s and 90s lighten my mood! Michael Jackson, Scorpions, Whitney Huston, George Micael etc. 8).gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':seas8:' />

I'm addicted to Radio X in the UK, and I quite like Spotify's suggested playlists too, as opens me up to new artists, although I sometimes get distracted looking through their back catalogue if I like them too much.

I have a chilled playlist on Spotify which I like to listen to when working, London Grammar, Birdy, Lordes, Jamie Smart.

If I'm doing design work I like something upbeat - don't really mind what it is! If I'm writing emails or doing other similar admin work, I much prefer lyricless music otherwise I find myself typing the lyrics
