Evening all, I hope this is in the right section.
Here's the story, my aunt needs a website up in about 3 weeks. I'm going to create it(hopefully) but I need some advice and direction from you guys. The site is for selling personalised gifts. I know HTML & CSS quite well, am studying MySQL & doing a little bit of PHP right now but have very little knowledge of Javascript.
I would like to know what would be the best way to go about it and what would be involved, I don't want to be in over my head.
Also she(my aunt) would like to upload photo's, info etc, so I was thinking maybe Wordpress would be good for that? I've never used it before but am going to look into it now.
All help greatly appreciated.
Al.

The best thing to start out selling stuff is Shopify. It's a hosted solution, but that takes care of hosting and payment gateway all under one roof. Once it takes off and is market-tested, look at scaling it to something self-hosted like OpenCart.

Ok so no Paypal, use Shopify instead?
I had a quick read it sounds good and easy to use. My aunt wanted to create a Merchant account on Paypal but I've heard they are a pain to set up.

They're a royal pain, the industry is rapidly falling out of love with them.
