Hi,

I am very new to web design and thought I had finished my first website when I realised there were major problems when viewing on different browsers and computers.

The first problem was that the website looked smaller in some browsers filled with empty white spaces and also the content within the AP divs were not in the correct positions to how they look in my design view (dreamweaver).

I have done alot of research online and found that applying divs is the best option. My background now looks great on all browsers but im now haveing troubles aligning the text and images over it.

I think I am slightly confused with positioning.

At the moment all divs including background are position:absolute - whenever I change this to relative, the images fall below the background image.

Any help on this would be appreciated - If you need any further info please let me know :)

Thanks
Pete

Step 1: don't rely on Dreamweaver's Design View - it doesn't display a page the way a browser would, and it produces horrible code. Check your output in a modern browser (Firefox with Firebug is best).

Step 2: validate your markup.

Step 3: use a CSS reset.
