Hi Guys, hope you all are well

I have paid a web developer company in full for a website, however they have not delivered my site. They have been saying since November that it was very near complete, however we are now in February and we are no where closer. They got me to pay the remaining balance of the site, so they could put the whole site live, however they have uploaded one page to my domain (maybe to try and get me off their back), they have not given me cms access at all.

I have called & emailed the project manager & developer, however they seem to not return my calls or emails.

What would be the next best thing to do? I have email conversations of all the times he has promised that the site would be live since November. Could I use this to take him to court?

Thanks in advance

Yeah, they told me the site was fully ready to be uploaded to the domain, but I had to pay the remaining balance.

got legal cover on your house insurance? Maybe worth using that to see what you can do. Are they a member here?

No I don't I'm afraid. No they are not a member

I'm thinking my only option may be small claims court & forking out again to get another developer to develop a site for me

UK based? Have an address? Send a letter recorded delivery and detail your intentions. May put the frighteners on them.

Yes they are and I do have an address.

I have detailed my intentions via email and over the phone, which kind of got them frighten. However they still have not delivered.

I think sending a recorded letter may help, will get started. It's really annoying as it is halting my business.

Thanks for the advice x

Deffinately send the recorded letter and seek legal help as this may scare them in to sorting it. Otherwise you don't really have much you can do as there's no written and signed contract.

Not much I can add to this, except to say never embark on a web project without a contract.

Let me get this straight. You have a verbal "contract" and you want to take a company to court because your site isn't live by the time they "said", based upon emails you have, in your inbox. Are you serious? You'd get laughed out of court.

Would be much easier to simply go into their premesis and demand to speak to someone.

It won't help you at all, but why the heck did you pay for something without a contract? I just don;t get it at all.
