Theres plently of companies out there that say for £99 a month they can get you at the top of Google with upto 3 keyword/phases. My question is how do they do this? and would this be something I could do myself?

Not really difficult if you understand adwords. Anyone can be at the of the Google Adwords listing if you chuck £100 per click on there.

To make sure you got a good ROI on your PPC's then you have to ensure all the content, landing page, keywords and adverts are all relevant to the keywords you want to get.

Do you know adwords at all?

Anyone can do it, but you have to have an understanding of how it works to ensure your adverts are good

no not £99 per click, its per month, so no matter how many times those 3 keywords/phases are clicked its all within the £99 they charge.

Yeh they can get you to top 3 but potentially burn that budget in a short amount of time and then your ads will not show at all. There is no way someone can guarantee to show ads on an un-limited amount of clicks without an unlimited budget.

So essentially these people are ripping others off?

Occupancy is for one night only p/m!

No, because you;re getting exactly what they are offering.

If you have a semi decent landing page and are willing to bid enough per click you'll appear for the said terms very briefly.

However, this will be on a very short term basis as your tiny budget for the highly competitive terms will soon run out.

They aren't technically misleading you, just trying to appeal to a customer not in the know - granted a lot of companies base their marketing on this very fact and it does all get quite grey, quite fast.

Personally, I'd be very very wary of any company offering such services as for the people they are aiming the service at it IS midleading to them.

You could play devils advocate and start asking some questions - but as said, I'd being a running a mile myself.
