HI, my sister has asked me to design her a genealogy website. She would like to setup a site where people could add to family trees on the site. I just can not get the concept in my head of how to allow online editing. I was thinking of using wordpress which would allow people to post on the site but just can not see how people could add directly to site content.

This sounds like a HUGE website to undertake with a lot of different elements to consider.

Before picking a system I would suggest writing a very detailed brief for it. When you say 'people' do you mean anyone? As the scope would then be huge. Or will this just be members of a specific family, as a personal project for example?

Your right it does have the scope to be huge. It would be for anyone who has our surname any where round the world. The idea is for people to create or upload thier personal family tree and then either link to other family trees on the site or add to them. As you say this seems like a lot of workbut the only alternatvie that I see is for all of the informationto be sent to me and then I add it to the website and link where possible. That option gives me a lot of work which I am not sure that I can commit to.
