Hi,

Well, we are ready to start a new online store and we hired a web designer to do the stuff for us.

Yesterday I received four examples on the store front from the designer, but i'm in doubt. I've made a lot of research on which colours and fonts people compare with the word "Outdoor" which is the overall theme.

I hope you'll give us some critique - both positive and negative critique is welcome.

It's clean and readable, great template for shops tbh, now it's all about the slider graphics that depend if the site is good, BG of second one is the best since its the least distracting

I see greens, whites, blues, all 'outdoor' colours IMHO. It looks clean and there's some good backgrounds. I see nothing wrong with the choice of fonts but what did you have in mind?

I've started to notice an increasing trend in this part of the forums.

This board is for peer review of designers' own work, not for clients to display a complete lack of confidence in the designer they've hired and post their comps to crowdsource free feedback.

Pass along how you feel about colors and fonts and let the designer make a decision. They are the experts at color theory and font selection, that's why you hired them. If you can't trust them to make decisions like this the project is going to suffer.

That said, what you have so far is very solid and 'outdoorsy'

Thanks for your comments - I really appreciate it.

I put the examples on this board because there were something distracting in them as Malyo pointed. @Renaissance-Design - why do you comment on this?? If people comment on everything in an appropriate manner there could be a lot of information in this board others can use in there own work.

Those negative comments is bad for a forum.

Renaissance-Design is 100% correct. If you aren't happy with your designer's work, take it up with them. This is a forum of design professionals, and I know a good portion of us would be furious if you solicited feedback from other designers behind our backs.

This is a really weird forum with a silly attitude - critique isn't welcome. If I told you I designed it by myself - it wouldn't bother anyone in here. If I didn't - this is bad.

If somebody in here has the right to delete threads - please delete this thread.

If you told us you'd designed it yourself it would be an attempt to scam free consulting out of the members of this forum. If you'd actually designed it yourself and were looking for critique from your peers you'd be more than welcome.

In actual fact you're a client with so little trust in the designer you chose to hire that you think it's a good idea to solicit feedback from other designers. That's a fairly serious breach of his/her trust.

You're dealing with web designers. That means conducting your web design projects the way our profession works, not the way you think it should work. If you, as the client, get to dictate the process it means you're not hiring a professional but a technician.

We won't be deleting this thread. I think it's valuable for other members of our profession to see what sort of client you are.
