Hi all,

I'm here 6 months later still trying to get a job in the web industry, but you get no points for having your own website and no portfolio. You get minus points for not having any relevant qualifications in this field.

So I'm offering free web design/development to my city's businesses. I've got my first client - he knows I'm doing this in my spare time and I'll have to learn as I go, so not much pressure thankfully.

Anyway, just thought I'd pop in a say hello. Hello!

Hello

I started building my portfolio designing sites for local charities way back when. I always figured that a business had the means to pay for a site at some point, whereas a charity usually cannot budget for a site and was a more deserving cause. I had some fun along the way making some good friends and contacts (You would be surprised how many business connections you can make working in the voluntary sector).

"so not much pressure thankfully" I think you may find otherwise :)

Good luck with your projects and hello once again.
