hey,

I'm trying to retrieve a wordpress login - I am the new developer on the account so I need to change the password but dont have the old one. I'm trying to do it through the FTP, I've downloaded the functions.php file and am trying to follow the instructions here under 'Through FTP': My link

Where it says: 'Put in your own new password for the main admin user. The "1" is the user ID number in the wp_users table.' So this is where I'm stuck - I'm not sure where I can see the wp_users table? In the control panel I see the database - company_wpdatabase, and I see one user - company_dbuser. I don't see any user ID numbers though? Can anyone advise?

Also doing this, even if it doesn't work wouldn't have any effect on the live site would it?

Any tips appreciated, cheers :)

Change the admin account email address in the databse then use WP's forgot password facility for resetting it?
