A sticky post (or pinned thread) stays at the top of the list of posts.

Whereas spam posts seem to magically disappear into the ether.

A sticky thread is placed permanently at the top of a forum for special announcements, rules, guidelines, and FAQs.

A sticky thread is used by spiders to make webs which they use to catch prey.

When I was in year 6 I had a huge crush on this girl at school and one day during class I was admiring her as usual when suddenly sticky thread came out my boy parts. It was shocking and I had no idea what was going on, panicking I decided to wipe it on the back of this kids head that was in front of me to which he he turned round and looked at me with a glare that pierced my very soul then came the fatal words "MISSSSS".

I knew I was in trouble so I ran to the cloak room and hid under some coats knowing full well that adults wouldn't be able to find me because I was invisible and started to cry, unfortunately even though my hiding skills were freaking legendary I forgot that adults had very acute hearing and it wasn't very long before she stumbled onto my hiding place and sent me to the head teacher.

Sitting outside I was nervous and scared, wondering what kind of creature the head teacher was. I looked round for anything that could be used as a weapon but alas there was nothing. The door to her office opened with a slow creek as this blonde chick with huge cans emerged from her den of evil. She asked me what I did and I explained to her that the sticky thread was the cause of the problem we then went on to have sex in her office and I lost my V at age 11.

The moral of this story? Sticky threads get you laidddddddd.

A sticky thread is an old nautical term for a rope that just won't tie into a knot.
