Hi all,

I have been looking to implement a static navigation bar (seen in the likes of google, facebook etc) where the navigation stays at the top of the browser regardless of scrolling. You sometimes see the same effect on the left or right hand on sites for things such as "feedback" or "contact us".

I have been researching this topic and have come across such names as frozen panels and non-scrolling regions although this doesn’t seem to be what im looking for.

If someone would be kind enough to let me know the technical name for this I will get all of my own research done (maybe the odd link would be nice :p)

Thanks

Have a look at item 5b here:-
http://www.wickham43.net/divboxes.php
The position: fixed div should have a background or you will see other content scrolling through it and you need to make the other content invisble as it scrolls behing the fixed div background

Never use tables for layout. Only use them when you would use one on paper.
