So I've decided I finally need some space on the web to put a website up and start getting into it more than I previously was. I have a domain name already I'm just looking for a reasonable amount of space to have some websites on.

I've been looking through pages of hosts sites by searching on Google but I'm unsure of what I'm looking at..

I'm a student and I don't want to pay too much but at the same time I don't want a totally unreliable host. I was wondering if any of you could give me a suggestion?

~Cheers

I use tsohost after they were recommended to me by someone on here - not an employee of theirs.

I pay £2.64 a month or something strange because I found a discount code, but it's normally £2.99/month with no minimum contract on their 'standard' package. That gets you (every month):

  • 2.5GB disk space
  • 20GB traffic
  • Up to 4 domains
  • 20 sub-domains
  • 25 email addresses
  • 5 MySQL databases

Can't fault them, been with them a year this month I think. Much faster than my previous US host - they're UK based I believe.

PS. Also a student, so I can vouch for value for money!

Edit: You could look at their 'lite' package, but they only do yearly payments for that. I'm sure they'd let you upgrade and not lose your money though - fantastic support whenever I've dealt with them.

You should try ###### first. Get their free package. It's completely free don't register your domain though, just use it to mess about and practice. You'll get to learn how one works.

I found it really useful.

I use EUK Hosting.

I'm on a £10 a month reseller package.

Unlimited domains
unlimited email
unlimited mysql

5gb disk space
50gb traffic.

I can't fault them other than their funny FTP.. Anymore than like 500 connections in a single go and you get IP banned from your server...

They have 24/7 English support though so its not a problem. This is chatbox on their website and phone support.

It is easy to do though especially when moving something like a wordpress site.

I am happy with them though, if they have downtime they tell you months in advance and always do it at like 4am out of the way.
