I'm a Joomla kinda guy.
I've look at the other girls on the street, some are defiantly quite fit, but I'm happy with my girl. She's stable, doesn't cheat, she has loads of people following her, I know how to push her buttons and well, I just love her so much.
My main website is in Joomla, I cant post any links or anything but I'm found if your looking for Kent Web Host in google.

I guess my question is this, whats with all the love for WordPress? What about the lovely Joomla?

Of course Mike I understand that Wordpress is those things, but Joomla is also those things.

I just wanted to know if there was a major difference between the two that I was missing out on.

So what does Wordpress have over Joomla?

Cheers mate, it's a student magazine in Brighton http://www.sqmagazine.co.uk props goes to a great team of guys who knew exactly what they wanted! And yes it is built on WordPress. (also i'm currently undertaking the 2012 make-over.)

Regarding your original question, i guess it boils down to personal choice. Having used both significantly i can honestly say i enjoy spending time with WordPress where with Joomla i used to feel like pulling my hair out. WP just seems so much more usable and easily moulded to do what i need without any hacking so i swapped to exclusive WordPress.

Also in the early days i used to offer a choice of WordPress, Joomla or Drupal. The vast majority of users chose WordPress because they preferred the admin area so i stuck with that.

Of course these are my views and findings and someone else may find significant differences in their findings and views.

It is a lovely site, very quick as well - sometimes I find that Joomla can be a bit heavy on the sites I build - slightly too many JS and CSS calls (although I've found a great way to compress them all into one file).

Yeah, thought it might just be personal choice! Although something else troubles me, I read "NET" and "Web Designer" magazines who both only ever talk about Wordpress - I recon there's a sponsorship thing going on there!!!

When work slows up a bit I may have another go with wordpress, but saying that I do love hacking the Joomla code :spiteful:

Hi "Kentwebhost"

Please share your way on how you compress all the css files etc into 1 file.

We remove these files as much as we can by copy and pasting, deleting into one file.
