I've done the usual thing of trawling through other forums, but still no luck.

The Platform: Joomla & Virtuecart (or another eCommerce package)

The Brief:
I have a client, he is a photographer, he takes 1000's of pictures at events and want to sell them on his website.

The Problem: I dont want to add each and every picture as a product - it would take ages.

The Desired Outcome:
Within JOOMLA - Upload a directory of images. Images are added as a batch to the catalogue, thereby each picture has a unique product code with an add to cart button.

So Far Discovered: Shape 5 have a template called Photofolio which uses Tienda Ecommerce. I've also looked through the Virtuemart and Joomla forums.

Thank you so much for helping,

Garry

If your client is selling 100's of photos each one must have some sort of unique code so mus therefore be a unique item in the catalogue. The only way to do that is to add each photo as a separate product.

What I would do is get your client to create a spreadsheet to catalogue each photo's details, eg ID, filename, name, description, price. Export the data to CSV then use an import facility to add the data to your store database, then upload images to the site so the store can access and display them.

Thanks BlueDreamer - I thought id have to go down that route
BUT

Instead I paid for "Virtuemart Import Images as Products" which is a component that allows you to select a folder as a bulk import, assigning each photo as a seperate ID number - here is the link for others - http://joomdonation....=99&Itemid=120.

However, I had real trouble getting the damm thing to work!
I resorted to a VirtueMart/Joomla bundle, which set that side up and THEN i installed the component.

Uploaded a buch of images to test and then tested it with a sandbox paypal payment.

Everything is really great!

Thanks to the two WDF Moderators for taking the time to answer! I consider this case=SOLVED!!!

Time for a beer now
