Problems with javascript in IE Function works fine in FF, Chrome and Opera, but not IE Rate Topic: -----

There is a javascript function on this page that works fine in most browsers we use but not internet explorer (at least version 8 ). When an option is selected from the drop-down lists, the list below is supposed to show only the entries linked to that selection (as written in the javascript code). Is there something wrong with the code, or is this something that commonly happens on IE8?
