A working record player, designed in Photoshop.
The animations are CSS3. Uses HTML5 audio tag for the sound.

Demo: http://pedroduarte.me/lab/turntable/

Let me know what you think!

Fantastic idea, if i may say something i think that effect would be much stronger with recorder 3 times bigger if that's possible!

Thanks for the feedback so far, +1s.

Malyo, I thought about that too but I've decided that I will add lot's of other vinyls around this so multiple tracks are available.

Thanks!

Theres is only one thing I would change on this to add to its realism.

I noticed the needle position is in the same place regardless of how long the song is played.

What would be cool is when the record starts the needle position was closer to the edge of the record and during play it moves towards the centre of the record accordingly.

Not sure if this is feasible?

Haha mate, I thought about the same thing!

It could actually be done with CSS3 only.
I would have to calculate the length of the song and change the rotation degree accordingly.
I will have a go at it later and get back to you!

Thanks everyone for the lovely comments

Click on the record player to play/pause.

The design which demands instruction reading is a bad design.
