The more pages you have, usually the better to capture more keywords and you'll often find some pages get visits from long tail keywords.

However, you don't say where you're ranking in the search engines, or for what keywords? You might have a website with 200 pages, but if they're ranking for a low volume keyword then you won't be getting many visitors at all.

So having a PR of 4 and 200 pages wont magically get you thousands of visitors a day.

i don't have 200 pages, i have 200 results, but with my blog and website combined only about 50 pages, im assuming some results are repeated in google or something.

If you have 50 pages and are getting 200+ results then something is very wrong and I would be seriously worried about duplicate content and the possible negative effect it could be having on your site as a whole.

To add, it really does not matter how many pages you have, how many search results are returned in google. None of this is going to give you a magic answer to increase your traffic.

I would be concentrating on making sure each page/result has meaningful, interesting content and that a relevant, descriptive title tag and description appear in googles search results. You are more likely to get a high click-through rate with a good, well thought out and relevant title than with 50 random, poorly described results.

mmm i know tons of hugely successful sites with more results then actually pages so i really don't think this is a problem. no single page is alike so its impossible to be duplicate content. But thanks for the advice anyways :) and i have had people purchase a product from my site quite a few people i just wanna increase the sales more thats all so i can quit my day job so to speak

Is it possible to see the site in question? As far as I am aware, google will only index a page/post once in the index, so if you have a maximum of, say, 50 pages then you could only ever have 50 results directly linking to your site...

I would be concentrating on assembly sure each page/result has meaningful, remarkable content and that a relevant, descriptive title tag and description become visible in googles search results. You are more likely to get a high click-through rate with a good, well thought out and relevant title than with 50 random, poorly described results.

If the site in question is a wordpress site, then the site will have individual page urls for each category, and sometimes even an individual page for tags.

I find it is very common to have a lot more pages listed than individual posts or pages.

Thanks

PR sadly does not affect rankings, it does however tell you that the page is well linked too from outside sources and Google finds it high quality meaning it can move along at long faster.

Build links, if you want that page to move a long, or add content to the page so that people automaticly link to it.
