hi

the domain name I am after is taken (for a client), the co.uk version (UK based so don't want a .com etc). the hyphenated version is gone too.

I could get me.co.uk - haven't used one of these before - what do people think of that extension - ok for a uk based business (sole trade not an ltd)?

any ideas are appreciated

thanks

.me.co.uk might not look right for a business.

If your chosen .co.uk name is taken then your client need to get creative and seek alternatives. Perhaps adding a second word to the name, eg if fredsmith.co.uk is gone try fredsmith-guru.co.uk - you get the idea.

Or think outside the box, like DIY.com for B and Q.

What about .net, .biz, .eu or .uk.com etc, there are so many choices

.com stands for commercial and has nothing to with any particular country so if the site is a business then why not use .com? It's what is was developed for.

If the client is already a UK limited company then somename.ltd.uk will have been reserved for their use by Nominet. To get it they will need to provide documentaion with the companies house registration number.
