Hi I am clueless when it comes to SEO so I thought I would put the question out there
So I am in the process of completely changeing a website. The website has about 50 links in Google search ranking.
When the site is done all the old url's will be gone and new ones from wordpress would take its place.
I know how to set up redirects just fine. But now I am wondering if the old links on Google get redirected to the new page would it be seen as...
A ) a duplicate page
B ) when the new site gets indexed will Google only index the proper(new) url meaning all my old urls will be swapped out for new ones? (fade away)
I hope my question makes sense, I have been reading a whole bunch of stuff from all over the web and cant find a definitive answer. (I confused myself)
Please Help

a) No
B)Yes - providing the new urls and pages are optimised and contain good content. IF the new pages are considered lower value in SEO then your new pages may suffer a drop in rankings.

Thanks its starting to get clearer.
So with the redirects in place it wont count as duplicate content. so basically Google will ignore the old links and use the new link when indexing?
Now I am thinking about all the links the site has on other site like blogs and links that have been bookmarked. Will Google not want to index these links as well or use these incoming links for page ranking puposes?
Sorry if I am repeating myself or just dragging this out but I really want to be sure that I am doing this the correct way.

Forgot to add, when you create the new pages, make sure you delete the old pages from the server and have them removed from the google index. You can do this via the removal tool in webmaster tools.
By doing a 301 google will completely bypass the 'old' url and load the new page directly, and by having deleted the old pages from the server and asked them to be removed (as per above) there will be no duplicate content for google to find.
